Iris Tenax Tough-leaf Iris Small

Habit:  Sun or partial shade in moist to dry soils - very adaptable.  Flowers usually light purple, but individuals may be blue or yellow or white. Blooms late spring to early summer.

Direct Sow:  Mix contents of packet with 2 times as much vermiculite or coir.  Spread mixture on bare ground fall or early winter.  Covers 100 square feet.

In Container:  Soak seed overnight, then plant 2-3 seeds per cell or container in fall.  Plant out spring to early summer.
