Produces a heavy late summer crop of large, red pears. Flesh is juicy, soft and sweet. Great for fresh eating, canning, preserves. Known to tolerate heavy soils. Ripens in late August.
A bud mutation of Clapp's Favorite, producing sweet, bright red pears with creamy white flesh; very showy white flowers in spring on an upright oval habit, very ornamental.
