Produces bright red apples with crisp and juicy flesh with bold, tart flavor. A great choice for fresh eating, freezing and cooking. Ripens mid- September to mid- October, but has great storage life, keeping from 3-6 months in refrigerator. Like the original Jonathon, but the fruit of Red Jonathon has earlier and bright red coloring and improved disease resistance to scab.
