Douglas Aster has masses of beautiful lavender daisy flowers with gold eyes at the ends of the stems from early to late fall, which are most effective when planted in groupings. The flowers are excellent for cutting. Its narrow leaves remain dark green in color throughout the season. The dark red stems can be quite attractive.

This variety forms a cluster of upright, leafy stems from creeping rhizomes; bluish purple, daisy-like flowers top the narrow stems from mid-summer to mid-fall; self seeds freely once established; great for streambanks, coastal planting, or meadows.
