Sisyrinchium Idahoense Blue-eyed Grass

Habitat: Full sun to part sun. A member of the Iris family! A clumping “grass-like” perennial! Often found in meadows, marshes, seasonal springs, and river banks. Prefers moist soils during winter and spring. Summer droughts are tolerated once it is established! Great for low spots in a yard as well! Blooms consistently from April-July. Reaches 12”-18” tall.

Direct Sow:  Mix contents of seed package with 3 times as much volume of vermiculite or fine coir. Spread on bare disturbed ground in fall or early spring. If spring-sowing put in refrigerator for a 2 month cold & moist period. Covers up to 100 sq. ft.

In containers: plant 2-3 seeds per cell or pot and keep cool and moist, for planting out 6-8” apart in early spring.
